Best Time To Travel

Peak Season

February – March; September – November

Reasonably priced hotels for unrehearsed journeys to Austin are next to impossible to get in February (Austin Marathon), March (South by Southwest), in the work of UT footy season, and in the work of the Austin City Limits Music Festival (October) unless you plan far in advance (at least six months).

Off Season

June – August; December – January

Early spring (well after South by Southwest in March) is of the best times to visit Austin. Hotel prices & travel deals are more reasonable, all the SXSW out-of-towners have mostly left, & the bars & restaurants aren’t as crowded. & it’s not blazing hot yet which is always a benefit.
